We got to interact with Alam Khan on a live Instagram session. Here’s what he talked to us about.

What are you doing in this lockdown?

I am praying that we come out of this crisis as soon as possible. Things are miserable right now. It’s really saddening to turn on the news channels these days. I hope we all stay together and combat this pandemic soon.

What are you binge-watching these days?

I am watching Money Heist. I have also just finished watching The Platform on Netflix. That movie just blew my mind.

Tell us something about your journey.

I had started acting at the age of four itself and have been into theatres, stage shows, as well as dancing. I was selected for the dance reality show Chak Dhoom Dhoom on colors. Post the show, I debuted on television as a child artist. I have featured in a number of popular daily soaps like Dil Mil Gayye, Humaari Devraani, etc.

But my most memorable experience has been during the reality show Shake It Up Mumbai. In spite of being from Lucknow, I had to pick up the native accent of Mumbaikars. I somehow managed to do that and it made me receive immense love from the audience. Even now, children around my flat refer to me by that show. This is overwhelming.

As Duryodhana in Mahabharat

Another experience I’d like to share was when I was playing the role of Duryodhana in Star Plus’s Mahabharat series. One day, a lady walked up to me and said, “You are an evil person” Though she seemed angry, it felt good knowing that I have managed to create an impact in the minds of the audience.

What was the best part of working in Kota Factory?

Everything about the show is memorable. The reason it emerged out to be a game-changer is due to its storyline, timing, and most importantly consistent flow. Our director was very particular about maintaining the flow. Hence, he never made anything interrupt a particular scene even if it wasn’t endowed with heavy-weighted dialogues. I have earned a lot of recognition and love due to Kota Factory. Hence, I couldn’t be prouder of being a part of it.
