About the story

Class of 2020 is the latest coming of age drama that released on ALT Balaji on February 4, 2020. Vikas Gupta created this show that features an ensemble cast of Rohan Mehra, Chetna Pande, Nibedita Pal, Isha Chawla, Sushant Talwar, and many more young faces. Sequel to the successful series, Class of 2017, this show revolves around a group of teenagers studying at De Nobili High School. The series further talks about their various encounters of love, sex, betrayal and peer pressure while framing friendship as the main theme of the story.

The students of De Nobili High are diverse in attributes, taste, and passion. While we have the casanovas on one side, we also have the ambitious and meritorious students on the other. There are students who spend most of their time attending lectures and experimenting with chemicals. Simultaneously, there are students who love sneaking out of the classrooms to experiment with their hormonal gush. Hence, they are often found making out in the dormitories. All of them enjoy a wild and exotic life full of newfound social and sensual desires until an infamous night ruptures their dynamics with one another.

Class of 2020

The story further progresses as to how these impulsive minds cope up with the helter-skelter while maintaining their bonds with one another.

On an attempt to make another successful romance of schooldays like Puncch Beat and Class of 2017, the makers end up creating another Gandii Baat. The storyline hardly focusses on aspects like friendship, competition or merits that could work in its favor. Class of 2020 is rather inclined towards their sexual encounters than their academic ones. The poorly-written and delivered dialogues downgrade the series furthermore. The screenplay is vague, there’s no character development and the actors render a disappointing performance. Even the cameos by Karan Kundrra and Anshuman Malhotra from the prequel, couldn’t save the ship of 2020 from sinking.
