Hulk and Thor are brothers-in-arms as Avengers. But in the movies, animated series, and comics—the powerhouses are constantly fighting about who is the strongest. Hulk popularized the phrase “Hulk strongest one there is,” but even Marvel icon Stan Lee has argued that Thor, a Norse God, is the strongest. We’ll leave it up to you to settle one of Marvel’s greatest debates. We all know Hulk and Thor could smash each other to death, but who’s the strongest one there is? Hulk v/s Thor! Who would win?
Watch a clip below of Thor and Hulk’s flight from “Ragnarok.”
“The film’s climax was a big fight between Hulk and Thor in a gladiator arena. Fans got the best of both worlds—Hulk and Thor’s bromance, and Hulk and Thor’s smashing hits!
Hulk not only claims to be “the strongest one there is,” but the gamma-radiated green powerhouse gets stronger the angrier he gets. There’s no limit to the Hulk’s strength. As his alter ego Dr. Bruce Banner would say, “Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like it when I’m angry.”
THE INCREDIBLE HULK
Hulk is a powerhouse force to be reckoned with. How can you stop the Green Goliath if his strength is fueled by rage and the gamma radiation exposure that gave him his abilities?
There was that time when Hulk was blasted into outer space and landed on the planet Sakaar. Hulk became a gladiator, but when the planet began to split apart, Hulk saved the day and literally pulled the planet back together.
Also, there was that time when Hulk was the only hero who could stop the villain Onslaught (this was a character that flicked X-Men villain Juggernaut across the Hudson River like he was a string bean). The madder he got, the stronger he became—eventually using a single punch to end the powerful psionic villain.
… Is the question answered now?
Thor is a Norse God. He not only has superhuman strength and stamina, but he can fly, summon lightning, transport across dimensions, and—most importantly—Thor wields an enchanted hammer called Mjölnir that only he is worthy of carrying to battle. (Most of the time.)
THE GOD OF THUNDER!
“Odin’s beard!” Thor’s a God, alright.
While Goldilocks and Hulk often fight to a draw across mediums, what would happen if Hulk got his maddest and Thor didn’t hold back? Thor would win. While Thor’s strength doesn’t seem to be fully explored as a Norse God, we’ve seen Hulk at his angriest—right?
VERDICT: STAN LEE-THE MAN SAID IT HIMSELF!
“I would have to say Thor, because as strong as Hulk is, he’s still a mortal. Thor is one of the Norse gods!” – Stan Lee (an interview)
BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Important as Stan Lee’s opinion is — as he did co-create both Hulk and Thor with Jack Kirby — the truth is that the debate of Hulk vs. Thor has no real answer. While Lee makes a strong point, there are plenty of arguments in the other direction as well.
Team Hulk folks will note that the psychotic creature has no morality when he’s highly-enraged, which would hold Thor back in a proper normal dual; and that Hulk only gets more powerful the angrier and further into battle he gets.
DRAW?? YOU’RE THE BEST JUDGE!
There are so many elements in play that the typical back and forth about it is a rabbit hole conversation that ends up going nowhere.
So in the end,we leave it on to you guys!
Decide and tell us in the comments!!
