What Works

What Doesn’t Work

The Concept

Puncch Beat comes with a tried-and-tested formula. It has everything that people want: a love story some sex, little rivalry, and lots of drama. And it clearly works. The show was well received and the masses are already demanding for a Season 2. Puncch Beat is loaded on drama, it is aspirational, and takes the viewer into a fantasy world. It is good TV for people who love to take a break from reality and watch TV for entertainment.

The Larger-than-life Production

Puncch Beat boasts of large-scale production. It has a larger-than-life feel to it. Nothing in this series is something that happens in real life. You may not relate to it, but you’d still want to binge-watch it. Puncch Beat feels like a movie, and it’ll leave you craving to be a part of their world. It’s aesthetic cinematography appeals to the audience.

The Plot

The plot is not that deep. It is illogical, unrealistic, and clichéd. The first few episodes don’t even mention the thing they are in Rosewood High for ─the studies. If you’re into real-life stories that provide for meaningful entertainment, you might not like Puncch Beat.

The show itself seems like a bad copy of One Tree Hill, Student of the Year, and Main Hoon Na. The banners and house names feel similar to Harry Potter’s Slytherin and Gryffindor houses.

The Acting

The acting is subpar. It isn’t bad, but it isn’t moving either. It gets the job done. Siddharth Sharma as Ranbir stands out. Even though Puncch Beat boasts of an impressive cast, bad writing and no character development dampens the actors’ effort.

Puncch Beat makes for good entertainment and makes you want to binge-watch it. It’s funny, hearty, and lovable. Give it a watch for the teen over-the-top drama. While we wait for the next season!

Puncch Beat is available for streaming on AltBalaji.
