AltBalaji‘s upcoming web series The Verdict- State Vs Nanavati is in the headlines from a long time.The makers have now released the trailer of this much-awaited web series. It is another remake of a very popular case after Rustom. Earlier, AltBalaji has delivered many other thriller series like The Test Case and BOSE: Dead/Alive. The new series is based on one of the most sensitive cases of 1959. It delivers the story of the court trial of naval officer K M Nanavati. What makes the series more interesting to watch is the star cast. This web series features all ace actors in lead roles.

As told earlier, the story revolves around K M Nanavati who shot three bullets at a businessman and his wife’s lover, Prem Ahuja. He later confessed his crime to the police. The untold story has many hidden facts which were later revealed. The jury, however, declared him not guilty but the Bombay court later dismissed the verdict. This case divided the society on patriarchal lines and marked the beginning of war against minority-“The Women”.

The trailer talks about the time when Bombay’s first female governor, Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit took oath. Then we get to see some courtroom snippets where Karl Khandalavala aka Angad Bedi questions Sylvia Nanavati about the case. The case then transformed into a war between communities- Parsis and Sindhis. Moreover, it became a war of rights of women in the male-dominant society. And the trailer finally ends with a question-“Victim or Murderer”? It will be amazing to see how the creators narrate the case and bring out the hidden facts for the audience.
