Vikrant Massey captivated our hearts with his portrayal of Veer in ALT Balaji’s Broken But Beautiful and Bablu in Mirzapur. Besides this, he starred opposite Deepika Padukone in the movie Chhapaak. The 32-year-old heartthrob was born to a Roman Catholic Family. Subsequently, he grew up in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Massey studied in St. Anthony’s High School in Versova, Mumbai. Following this, he enrolled himself at R.D. National College of Arts and Science in Bandra.
Early association to the theatre:
An unknown fact about Vikrant Massey is that he is a trained ballet dancer. Besides, he has been pursuing his passion for performing arts since the age of seven. He has been a part of various stage shows and theatre performances since then. Furthermore, he has been a part of Shiamak Davar‘s famous dance troupe.
Vikrant’s first prominent role was in Disney’s hit teenage drama Dhoom Machao Dhoom. He played the role of Aamir and was paired opposite Sriti Jha. Following this, he played one of the titular characters in the period television drama Dharam Veer alongside Rajat Tokas. He then played a supporting role in the popular serial Balika Vadhu and went on to star in NDTV Imagine‘s Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo. He played the husband of a dwarf woman in the latter series.
His last recognized character was that of Ayaan Ahmed Khan in Zee TV‘s Qubool Hai. Besides acting in the above daily soaps, Vikrant has also hosted reality shows like Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Gumrah.
Vikrant marked his Bollywood debut in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera. He played a supporting role alongside Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. Following this he has played supporting characters in well-known Bollywood movies like Dil Dhadakne Do, Half Girlfriend, Lipstick Under My Burkha. His performance in the Konkona Sen directed “A Death in The Gunj” earned him a Best Actor award in Caleidoscope Indian Film Festival. His recent work includes Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak opposite Deepika Padukone.
Before foraying into web series, Massey has appeared in various short films. His first web series was Youtube’s Rise followed by Amazon Prime India’s sensational Mirzapur. He played the parallel lead of Vinay “Bablu” Pandit alongside Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Shriya Pilgaonkar. He also starred in ALT Balaji’s Broken But Beautiful opposite Harleen Sethi. Both their performances and chemistry were whole-heartedly applauded by the viewers. He also appeared in a brief role in Prime Video’s Made In Heaven and made a comeback with Hotstar’s Criminal Justice the second season of Broken But Beautiful.
